Wytchmourne has disbanded.
The Hold Rule
This is arguably the most important rule in the entire game. If someone yells "Hold" the player takes a knee, closes his/her eyes, and points his/her head at the ground. The player also yells "Hold" as loud as they can so that more people can hear the Hold. The Hold Rule has been created to combine maximum safety with actions that allow no plot to be spoiled. Holds can be called for many different reasons. Perhaps the most serious of those reasons is if someone gets hurt. If a player sees someone get injured, he/she can call a hold. If this is the case a plot/rules marshal will handle the injured player. Do not try to fix the problem, are staff has certified medical representatives for each medical area. Holds can also occur to disseminate plot information, though this type of hold can only be called by an NPC. It is very important that this rule is followed to the letter. The only time the hold rule doesn't need to be followed is if a plot/rules team member asks you for your assistance.
General Safety
There is no climbing into trees or onto roofs of buildings or other equally hazardous material. We request that you use common sense to protect yourself from unnecessary injury.
Physical Role Play
Some people are not comfortable physically interacting with others. If a player is going to interact physically, outside of standard combat procedures, even if it is something so simple as to touch someone's hand he/she must ask "Do you accept my physical role play?" beforehand. It is well within the person's rights to ask what the player will do. The player is expected to be honest with the person asking. Further the right to deny physical role play also exists. If a player is not comfortable, they can simply say no. There are no repercussions for this.
·Some individuals accept all physical role play or most physical role play with some conditions. Those people will usually let themselves be known before an event.
·If someone has not specified as such, the player must make sure and ask every time physical role play is to be initiated.
Melee Combat Style
Melee combat is represented by fighting with a physical replica of your weapon of choice. No physical bare handed fighting is allowed. Any Melee combat attack should be done in such a manner that a 45 degree angle is generated between each swing. This allows combat to move rapidly and realistically.
Body Shot
A body shot is when a player is hit in a specific part of the body, in which case you do not take the damage dealt.
These area's include:
·Head
·Hands
·Crotch
When hit in the area announce to your opponent that they hit you there. Example: "Watch the Head shots!"
Bat Swinging/Baseball throwing
When fighting another person in Wytchmourne you do not need to use your full strength to throw a rock (weapon type) or use a great sword. The weapons are designed to be light allowing you to fight easily. A light tap will give the same damage call, and there is less chance of actual injury. The same rules apply to throwing rocks, spell packets and arrows. If someone bat-swings please inform them, if it continues to be a problem contact a plot/rules member.
Charging
Charging is when a player runs (or moves quickly) at another person resulting in one of two things.
·They will get close enough where they cannot make a full weapon swing, or can easily tap the opponent on the back over his/her shoulder.
·They will lose control of their movements and run into another player.
Both of these are charging, if a player is caught charging he/she takes twice the damage dealt from there own weapon swings.
Shield Bashing
Shield Bashing is where a player hits someone with his/her shield. While shields are designed to be safe to deflect blows, they are not designed nor intended to hit other people. If this happens more than once the shield will be taken away for the event.
Ranged Combat Style
An arrow must be tapped to the bow and drawn back to simulate pulling the string. After this point, the Arrow packet may be thrown. The arrow packet must be thrown in the direction the bow is pointed.
Magic Combat Style
When throwing a magic packet a player needs to loudly say the full incantation before releasing the packet. The "damage call" at the end must be said after throwing the packet. Further if a player is hit while saying an incantation or the player messes up the incantation, the spell is blown. Remember Incantations are not just words. You should visualize magic lighting up an area as you pull the energy to your self. Then casting at your allies or opponents.
